Frequently Asked Questions

Up to 20 courts.

Not always, especially for very large tournaments. Players are paired with as many different players as possible, with minimal repeat teammates.

To reduce the workload of the Tournament Director, players use their own internet-connected mobile devices to receive their team assignments and record their scores every round. However, if players do not have a mobile device, the Tournament Director can use Bjerring Online to direct players to their assigned courts and record scores for the players.

Yes! The player can register using the tournament code, and the Director will check them in.

The Tournament Director can remove the player and their scores will be removed from the tournament.

Most Bjerring Online tournaments will benefit from a FLEX tournament format, which allows the Bjerring Online system to minimize the number of bye players by allowing different team sizes on different courts.

A FIX format will always have the same team size (ie 4 vs 4) on every court.

For example, if the Tournament Director had 3 courts available and wanted to invite 23 players to play 4 vs 4 volleyball:

A FLEX tournament would assign 2 courts of 4 vs 4, 1 court of 3 vs 3, and 1 bye player.

A FIX tournament would assign 2 courts of 4 vs 4 with 7 bye players, since there are not enough players to assign the third court to a 4 vs 4 game.

The most common cause of too many bye players is having too many players for the number of courts available. Try increasing the number of courts, splitting courts in half, increasing the team size, or reducing the total number of players.

Bye assignments are distributed as evenly as possible, and no player will ever have more than 1 bye assignment than another player.

The Bjerring Online system will attempt to automatically correct minor incorrect score reporting, but if many players are reporting inconsistent scores, they will receive a score of 0 and the Director will need to manually correct their score.
